5 Travel Essentials You Should Always Pack

When packing for a vacation, it’s easy to overlook items that could end up saving you time, money, or inconvenience at the other end. There are some everyday items that you might have lying around the house or can easily purchase that might just make all the difference on your vacation.

In this article, we’ve put together some easy-to-pack travel essentials to make sure you have everything you need for your next trip. Click here for cheap flights.

Sleeping Pills

Jet lag can make it difficult to enjoy your vacation fully. Travel through different time zones can disrupt your circadian rhythms and you may not have the luxury of time to deal with your jet lag naturally. It’s a struggle to take in the sights with vigor and enthusiasm when all you want to do is sleep.

Taking sleep medication with you can help regulate your sleeping patterns and adjust your body to local time as quickly as possible ensuring you feel rejuvenated and ready for the day.

Portable Charger

Depending on your travel destination, you may not find ready access to a power outlet when you need to charge your phone. A portable phone charger can save you from the dilemma of a dead battery when you need to find directions, retrieve your flight information, look up an address or call for a taxi.

Areas with poor signal and network fluctuations can cause your phone battery to drain faster than usual, as cellular data uses more energy in trying to find better reception. Investing in a good-quality portable charger will give you the comfort of knowing you can charge your phone anywhere and at any time.

Antidiarrheal Medicine

The last thing anyone wants on their vacation is to be constantly on the lookout for the nearest toilet. Unfortunately, an upset stomach is par for the course in certain countries, especially where you are unaccustomed to the food and water, so a bout of traveler’s diarrhea may be unavoidable. It is better to be safe than sorry by packing some antidiarrheal medicine with you.

Petroleum Jelly

Chapped lips can occur when traveling due to the effects of cabin pressure when flying but also exposure to different climates. Whether it’s a cold, dry environment you are visiting or one with extreme heat, moisture from your skin can easily dry out leading to chapped lips.

If left untreated this can cause great discomfort and irritation so it is best to keep your lips hydrated and moisturized by carrying a small jar of petroleum jelly on your travels.

Pashmina

No matter where you are traveling to, it always pays to pack a pashmina or scarf with your luggage. This versatile accessory can be used to cover your shoulders when visiting places of worship or as a wrap-around over your bathing suit on the beach.

A winter must-have essential, a pashmina can keep you warm during the evenings when temperatures often plummet as it can also be worn as a shawl.

With these five travel essentials in your suitcase, you can travel confidently knowing you have everything you need for any eventuality.
