2017年2月，新加坡平均房价经历了大幅下跌，主要原因是由于越来越多的可负担的客房进入了市场。
根据STR发布的最新月度报告，新加坡的平均客房价格在上月下跌了8.1%，不过仍保持高位，合计约193美元／晚。
STR的数据显示，2016年年初，有超过2000家新酒店客房加入了新加坡市场，为酒店业者的定价带去了更大的压力。其中许多客房都来自中高端酒店市场，所以现在有更多的客房价格变得相对更可以接受一些。
然而，新加坡各大活动的缺失也影响了市场，让酒店业者都更不敢挑战高房价可能带来的后果。
新加坡酒店客房的需求量在二月也将继续保持一月的增势，同比幅度约为5%。
