AmaWaterways has celebrated the inaugural voyage of its 19th ship, AmaKristina.
Named after AmaWaterways’ Co-Owner and Executive Vice President Kristin Karst, AmaKristina joins the fleet as the company celebrates its 15th anniversary and continues its commitment to innovation and culinary excellence. The ship left Amsterdam on the 1st April and will conclude her maiden voyage in Basel on the 8th April. The official christening ceremony – led by the vessel’s godmother, Karst – will take place on the 10th May in Lahnstein.
“The arrival of every new ship for AmaWaterways is incredibly special, but this ship notably represents 15 years of inspired design and innovation,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “Our guests will love the luxurious amenities and spaciousness and style of the public areas and staterooms as they experience Europe’s finest river cruise destinations.”
The new vessel accommodates 158 guests and features connecting cabins and triple occupancy staterooms that are tailored specifically to the growing multigenerational family and group markets.
Guests onboard enjoy access to a greater number of AmaWaterways’ unique signature twin balcony staterooms, which provide magnificent panoramic views for travellers.
AmaKristina will play host to a variety of captivating Rhine River sailings between Amsterdam and Basel in 2017 including a Wine Themed cruise departing on the 11th November and Christmas Market cruises starting on the 25th November.
