Japan Airlines (JAL) will launch a second daily flight between Tokyo Haneda and London Heathrow later this year.
Commencing on 29 October 2017, the new flight will be operated using a three-class Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, with business class, premium economy and economy class cabins.
The new flight will depart Haneda daily at 0245 and arrive at Heathrow Terminal 3 at 0625, while the return service will leave Heathrow at 0930 and land back in Tokyo at 0625 the next morning. JAL said the early morning arrival times of both flights would enable more onward connections.
This will complement the existing 1130 departure from Haneda and the 1900 return service from London, which is operated using a Boeing 777.
“Not only does this allow us to offer greater choice and seat availability to travellers based in London, it also allows customers travelling from elsewhere in the UK and Europe another option when travelling to and from Japan. We anticipate that demand for Japan travel will continue to grow,” said Yoshitaka Ihokibe, JAL’s senior vice president for the EMEA region.
With the addition of this service, JAL and its oneworld partner, British Airways, will offer four daily direct flights between London and Tokyo, including three from Haneda and one from Narita.
