Philippine Airlines will boost its European operations next month with the deployment of its latest long-haul aircraft on the Manila-London route.

On 19 September 2017, the national carrier’s 370-seat Boeing 777-300ER will start operating the non-stop services to and from London Heathrow.

And PAL will further expand the route in the coming months with the addition of three more weekly flights, in addition to its current four. This will take the total frequency of the Manila-London service to daily by December 2017.

“As we carry out the brand promise to be a full service five star carrier of the country and be a source of pride of Filipinos everywhere, we shall continue to enhance the total travel experience along the route,” said PAL’s president & chief operating officer, Jaime Bautista. “We want our passengers to have the ultimate travel experience marked by comfort, in-flight connectivity and the caring service of our cabin crew.”

The 777 replaces the Airbus A340s which have operated the Manila-London route since it launched in 2013. The new aircraft’s passenger capacity of 370 seats (42 in business class and 328 in economy) also marks a 46% increase compared to the 254-seat A340.

“With [the 777’s] range and operational capability, the flag carrier will be at par with other full-service carriers along the route,” Bautista added.
