Princess Cruises has revealed plans to operate a new voyage that allows Asian travellers to explore the frozen wonders of Alaska.

The new “Epic Adventure Cruise” voyage will set sail from Singapore on 14 April 2018. It will head to 11 Asian ports in five countries before heading across the north Pacific Ocean to Alaska. The total cruise will last 29 days.

“We have created this 29-day Epic Adventure Cruise from Singapore due to popular demand from guests in this region who wish to embark the ship closer from home to sail to Alaska instead of just booking the seven-night Alaskan cruise,” said Farriek Tawfik, Princess Cruises’ director of Southeast Asia.

“This cruise appeals to Asians as the ship calls at many north Asian ports, especially in Japan, where guests will be able experience various local cultural activities and cuisine before they arrive in Alaska.”

Having departed Singapore, the 2,600-passenger Golden Princess cruise ship will sail to Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taipei, Busan in South Korea, and six Japanese ports: Osaka, Shimizu, Yokohama, Sakaiminato, Hakodate and Muroran. It will then cross the Pacific Ocean and International Date Line on its way to Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska.

Passengers then have the option of continuing their journey with a seven-day “Alaska Grand Adventure” from Anchorage, which visits the Hubbard Glacier, Glacier Bay National Park, Skagway and Juneau, before ending in the Canadian city of Vancouver. These two voyages can be combined into a 36-day sailing.

The 29-day Singapore-Alaska cruise is priced from SG$4,520 (approx. US$3,320) per person, with the seven-day Alaska Grand Adventure available for an additional SG$1,160 per person. Alaskan shore excursions include dog sledding and visits to the national and wildlife parks.
