为了庆祝与虎航的合并，酷航正式公布了其将首次开通直飞美国航线的计划。
在新加坡航空旗下两家廉航酷航、虎航公布了合并计划，将以酷航名字统一运营9个月后，该项合并终于完成了。新加坡虎航的最后一趟航班于7月24日从樟宜机场出发，飞往印度的蒂鲁吉拉伯利。
另外，酷航将在2018年6月前开启五个全新目的地，包括将作为酷航美国首航的火奴鲁鲁，中国东北部的哈尔滨。 其余三个为短程飞行目的地 ： 马来西亚的古晋和关丹及印度尼西亚的巨港。五条新航线再加上虎航的网络，将使酷航网络扩展至18个国家的65个目的地。
酷航首席执行官李立兴先生表示：“虎航的旅程结束，同时也意味着酷航新篇章的开始。我们的结合建立在前酷航和虎航各自辉煌成果上，将比以往任何时候都更加强大，因此我们也能为客户提供更多的选择和价值，以及更好的与世界互联。今日的崭新酷航是更加炫酷充满活力的，并且承诺为我们的乘客创造更多的旅游选择。“
所有以前新加坡虎航的航班现在将在酷航旗下运营，不过航班代码将延用之前虎航的TR，酷航的TZ代码将被取消。酷航还为全体机组人员推出了一组新制服。
