This time last month, we reported that Sabre had doubled-down on its distribution agreement with Vietnam Airlines by renewing its long-term contract with the airline.
The relationship between the two must be proving fruitful as the airline revealed yesterday it has deepened its commitment to Sabre by expanding its current SabreSonic package – Sabre’s passenger service system (PSS) – to “improve its retailing, distribution and fulfilment capabilities”.
“Well-equipped to address the fast-changing air travel landscape”
Trinh Hong Quang (main picture, centre right), executive vice president of Vietnam Airlines, said of the deal: “It was an obvious choice to continue our multi-year collaboration with such an innovative technology provider as Sabre, allowing us to offer an enhanced experience to our customers.
“By integrating Sabre’s advanced solutions to an already robust platform, Vietnam Airlines will be well-equipped to address the fast-changing air travel landscape.”
The decision to make use of the extensive range of SabreSonice tech-travel solutions will give Vietnam Airlines’ customers the chance to benefit from Sabre’s self-styled “seamless experience” which features enhanced flight search, online booking, check-in and after-sales service, as well as with online ancillary purchases.
“Customer-centric retailing, distribution and fulfilment capabilities”
“By implementing this breadth and depth of Sabre innovation, Vietnam Airlines will increase their competitive advantage in the Asia Pacific market,” said Dave Shirk (main picture, centre left), president, Sabre Airline Solutions.
“Our two companies have generated impressive results over the course of our lengthy relationship. With our customer-centric retailing, distribution and fulfilment capabilities, Sabre will continue to bring significant value to Vietnam Airlines as they strive to become one of the region’s largest carriers,” he concluded.
Continuing its support for the airline in meeting the International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards for distribution technology, Sabre will also provide Vietnam Airlines with technology that will enhance the development of mobile applications.
