Hotelbeds Group and City Expert have announced a partnership to introduce Guest Experience Desk, a digital concierge service. The platform will be launched in Spain with the intention of a global rollout to follow soon.
Hotelbeds Group, a global distributor of accommodation and ancillary products, has tapped City Expert, a specialist in tourism products, to implement the new project. Through the initiative, both companies will offer a specialised concierge service within hotels, providing guests with information about destinations, as well as tickets for activities, events, and transfers.
Javier Arévalo, director at Ancillary Bank of Hotelbeds Group, commented: “This alliance is a response to the new dynamics of the market. City Expert is a perfect ally to meet the expectations of both hoteliers and their own guests, not only for its presence in the main Spanish destinations but for the excellence in its customer service. I’m convinced this is the beginning of a success story.”
The new business model comes as an addition to Hotelbeds’ offers to the hotel industry, helping it maintain a commercial relationship with hotels. Meanwhile, City Expert will be able to establish its presence in the sector by assisting consumers in purchasing activities, transportation, car rental, and other services in the main Spanish tourist spots. This will be done with the help of in-destination experts and service desks within hotels.
“What is necessary for travellers to enjoy the best in-destination experiences”
Enrique Ybarra, president of City Expert, said: “The agreement with Hotelbeds Group will allow us to expand even more the City Expert network of information points and the sale of tourist services. We are convinced that we will also provide what is necessary for travellers to enjoy the best in-destination experiences and for hotels to offer personalised attention to their guests. Without a doubt, all parties will benefit from this partnership.”
The strategic partnership is currently focused around the main Spanish cities, but will eventually replicate the collaboration model in other popular destinations. According to the group, Dubai is the next target market.
