Emerging hotel chain based in the Philippines, Seda Hotels, has announced its latest offering that looks to capitalise on leisure and business travellers in the picturesque El Nido, Palawan.
Opening its first hotel in the buzzing Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in 2012, Seda Hotels has now more than 1,800 keys in nine properties in the Philippines. Fully-owned and operated by AyalaLand Hotels and Resorts Corporation (AHRC), one of the biggest property developers in the country, the brand continues to grow in prime locations right next to shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
The aggressively expanding Philippine hotel chain has opened its first resort, Seda Lio, in the 325-hectare Lio Tourism Estate in El Nido, Palawan. Its latest property is a low-rise structure consisting of three floors, which follows the estate’s sustainable development master plan.
“We will be addressing environmental concerns at Seda Lio”
Brett Hickey, the group general manager for Seda Hotels, commented: “We will be addressing environmental concerns at Seda Lio, in addition to offering guests our brand of genuine Filipino hospitality aligned with the premier service standards offered by top-tier destinations.”
Located within minutes from the airport, the resort intends to make the attractions of El Nido more accessible to both foreign and local travellers. It caters to leisure tourists, families, destination weddings and MICE groups, with facilities that showcase the area’s biodiversity and natural attractions.
Within the hotel’s grounds are a variety of facilities and amenities including the 1,800 sqm swimming pool, Seda Spa, children’s playroom, game room, pool bar and Misto restaurant. In addition, on the 2.5-mile stretch of beach are non-motorised water sports options like kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, pedal boating, as well as snorkelling. Shopping is also available via Ayala Malls Shops and island-hopping tours can be arranged.
Seda Lio offers 153 rooms, including function rooms that can accommodate up to 100 seated guests. There are three meeting rooms, two boardrooms, plus the adjoining outdoor patios are also on offer as the main event venue.
According to Seda Hotels, the resort aims to be a leading wedding and meetings destination in the country.
