Since the days of Britain’s occupation by the Roman Empire, Bath in Somerset has been one of the UK’s top holiday destinations for locals and international visitors alike.
Tourists are drawn to the striking grandeur of the town’s architecture, the iconic public baths (below) — built by the aforementioned Romans — as well as its fascinating history and the beauty of the surrounding area. Not to mention the abundance of museums and galleries catering to culture vultures and history fanatics.
On top of that, since 2006 when the Thermae Bath Spa first opened, Bath was has been able to reassert its reputation as the only place in the UK to offer visitors the chance to submerge themselves in naturally heated spring waters.
With its thriving tourist industry, which has blossomed into an infrastructure including nearly 80 hotels and more than180 B&B’, it is no surprise that Touch Stay — “digital guest welcome book”, which helps roll out property and local info from independent hospitality companies to their guests – has got in on the action with a partnership with StayinBath, a group initiative of more than 100 local independent accommodation providers
Guests who book through one of the member properties will be able to access information, discounts and exclusive offers in ‘real time’ for the city’s many independent retailers, tours and activities and eateries.
Members will be able to collectively communicate with guests across the Touch Stay platform helping to promote a local experience of Bath, as well as keeping guests within a locally owned, commission-free ecosystem rather than ‘lose them’ through a third party provider.
Discussing the success of the Touch Stay platform, which recently completed a trial with an organisation of similar size and structure to StayinBath but located in Nashville, Tennessee; Andy McNulty, co-founder of Touch Stay believes that sustainable growth and a high focus on customer experience is key factor saying:
“Supporting independent tourism businesses, like StayinBath to offer exceptional guest experiences through their local networks, is something that we are really excited about.”
