IndiGo has announced two new international routes — Delhi-Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Kolkata-Yangon (Myanmar). While the Kolkata-Yangon daily will start from 20 September, the Delhi-Dhaka sector will begin on 22 August.
Talking about the Yangon route, William Boulter, chief commercial officer (CCO), IndiGo said: “We see significant traffic coming from Yangon to the Buddhist circuit, thereby enhancing economic growth and tourism in India. This new route will strengthen the cultural relationship between the two countries and will boost trade, tourism and mobility.”
Regarding the Dhaka launch, he said: “We are confident, with Dhaka being a handicraft and textile hub in Asia, enhanced connectivity will promote trade as well as tourism between India and Bangladesh.”
Yangon will be IndiGo’s 18th international destination in a network spanning across 77 cities.
