Switzerland set a new tourism record in terms of visitors from the US in 2019. Final figures for that year just released by Switzerland Tourism show an increase of nearly 10% in US arrivals in the country in 2019, for a total of 1,1154,155.
The number of overnight stays was 2.47 million, an increase of 9.8% compared to 2018. Over the past decade, the tourism board said the visitor numbers from the US to Switzerland have grown by over 60%.
Claudio Zemp, director of Americas for Switzerland Tourism said: “The country has seen almost 10% growth in terms of US visitors for the past three years running and the US is its most important source market.”
