Singapore to drop most indoor mask requirements next week

As the country sees its COVID-19 situation stabilise further, from 29 August, Singapore will drop indoor mask requirements making it now optional for both indoor and outdoor settings.

For the first time in more than two years, locals and travellers in Singapore will no longer be required to wear masks indoors except on public transport and in high-risk settings like healthcare facilities.

The health ministry also updated rules for non-vaccinated travellers, dropping a 7-day quarantine requirement starting next week on 28 August. Non-vaccinated travellers will need to test negative within two days before travelling to Singapore.

The latest easing of restrictions makes the destination even more appealing to UK visitors allowing them to safely enjoy reimagined experiences; be it Singapore’s world-class foodie scene, the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix in October or sharing in the excitement of Gardens by the Bay’s 10th anniversary this year.
