Due to strong demand, the UK’s largest regional airline Loganair has announced it will reinstate its route between Cornwall Airport Newquay and Manchester from Friday 10 February – earlier than previously planned. On sale from today, Friday 18 November 2022, the service will operate daily, providing customers with easy access to short breaks or longer stays for business and leisure.
The airline had planned to recommence routes within its summer 2023 schedule, from 26 March 2023, however, with increasing demand for the Loganair service between Newquay and Manchester, and to meet anticipated demand during the February half term holiday, the airline has taken steps to bring the route back earlier than previously scheduled.
The move means holidaymakers can now book to travel from February 2023 until as far as 28 October 2023, with certainty, and also secure the best value fares in advance. The airline is the only operator on this route to offer a 15kg hold-luggage allowance, and a further 33% discount for children aged 11 and under, both as standard – which is expected to be popular with families.
Customers travelling from Cornwall Airport Newquay can also benefit from Loganair’s extensive regional network and join onward connections from Manchester to Aberdeen, Isle of Man and Inverness. Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “We’re very pleased to announce the early recommencement of our Newquay – Manchester route benefiting those with February half term travel plans. “We continue to work closely with the teams at both airports and are keen to maximise the potential of this route in line with our continued commitment to UK regional connectivity.”
Amy Smith, Head of Commercial at Cornwall Airport Newquay, said: “It is fantastic that Loganair has decided to return to Cornwall earlier than expected. Cornwall is more than a summer destination and this February start, as a result of the demand the airline is seeing, is a good indication of that.
“We’re anticipating continued strong growth in passenger numbers next year and are very pleased that Loganair will play a key part in that as one of our valued airline partners.” Additionally, Loganair flights to Edinburgh and Newcastle from Cornwall Airport Newquay will recommence from Sunday 26 March.
