IndiGo, India’s preferred carrier commemorated the World Sight Day on October 12, 2023, by hosting eye checkup camps for the aviation community across India. Under the aegis of IndiGoReach, the airline’s CSR arm, these comprehensive eye checkup camps were conducted at more than 50 airports in collaboration with partners like the Airports Authority of India, Adani Airports, GMR Group among others. Over 9500 people including IndiGo employees, ATC personnel, and other stakeholders from airport operating teams underwent eye checkups in these camps.
IndiGoReach partnered with renowned eye care centers such as the Centre for Sight, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, The Eye Foundation, ASG Eye Hospital, Vasan Eye Care, and others. In line with the theme of this year’s World Sight Day, “Love your eyes at work”, the initiative aimed to instill a culture of eye health awareness within the workplace, addressing issues of blindness and visual impairments. IndiGo firmly believes that the well-being of the aviation community is the cornerstone of the sector’s success, and this event marked a significant step in that direction.
Beyond its primary mission of raising awareness about the importance of eye health, this campaign was a focused endeavor in understanding the needs of individuals with visual impairments. It emphasized the airline’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace environment, a commitment that IndiGo continually upholds. IndiGo remains committed to nurturing a healthy, supportive, and inclusive workplace where every individual’s well-being is a top priority.
