The “Qatar Airways Garden” is expected to captivate visitors by recreating the grandeur of Versailles Gardens with a contemporary Qatari touch.
Qatar Airways proudly invites visitors to the “Qatar Airways Garden” as the Official Airline and Strategic Partner of Expo 2023 Doha. The mesmerising attraction, part of Expo 2023 Doha, will run for six months, ending in March 2024. The garden is an elegant combination of Qatar’s contemporary spirit and cherished traditions, inspired by global floral marvels and with a special tribute to the timeless Gardens of Versailles.
The design incorporates prominent sites from the continents served by Qatar Airways, including the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, emphasising Qatar’s pivotal role as a global hub. The garden reflects the airline’s vast connectivity and the spirit of diversity, sustainability, and cultural celebration.
When visitors enter this sanctuary, they are greeted with a giant yellow teddy bear, a nod to the award-winning Lamp Bear at Hamad International Airport (HIA). The bear, which serves as the pavilion’s focal point, conveys a sense of familiarity, reminding guests of Qatar’s world-class hospitality. Football legends David Beckham and Ronaldinho have also recently visited the pavilion, contributing star power and cementing its position as a top attraction during the Expo.
“Our pavilion at Expo 2023 Doha reflects our dedication to uniting people, promoting sustainability, and constantly pushing the boundaries of the travel experience,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker. It draws inspiration from floral marvels across the world while showcasing Qatar’s key role in global connectivity. We are thrilled to present to visitors a venue representing our commitment to innovation, customer experience, and deep-rooted ties to Qatari heritage.”
The augmented QVerse platform, which effortlessly combines digital innovation into the botanical experience, is a prominent attraction for visitors at the pavilion. QVerse, which debuted in April 2022 to widespread acclaim, offers an immersive digital experience of Qatar Airways’ luxurious interiors. Visitors may virtually go through First Class check-in desks, Premium Lounges, and Business and Economy Class spaces, guided by the airline’s MetaHuman cabin crew member, ‘Sama’—which means ‘sky’ in Arabic.
The pavilion artfully merges natural beauty with innovative design, evident in the grandeur of its orchard tree, which is reminiscent of the HIA’s Al Mourjan Garden. This stunning addition underscores Qatar Airways’ commitment to blending natural beauty with contemporary design.
The garden’s beautiful overhead maze is noteworthy, providing visitors with a unique combination of aesthetic and sensory enjoyment. Guests are asked to travel through a captivating maze reflected from above, providing a magnificent, scenic moment reflected in both design and experience. This creative marvel is expected to be one of the pavilion’s key attractions.
In keeping with its goal to provide a holistic experience, Qatar Airways will begin offering an enhanced in-flight experience on 11 October 2023. Evergreen Organics will serve curated drinks and a unique à la carte menu with Qatari farm-sourced ingredients to passengers on board. A unique Expo-themed channel delivers over 30 gardening-related programmes, further enriching the in-flight ambience and ensuring that the travel to and from Doha resonates with the Expo’s botanical spirit.
