Etihad Airways has announced the relaunch of its award-winning Etihad Guest loyalty programme, which will offer more rewards and benefits to its members starting in June 2024.
The new programme will be the first in the Middle East to offer Custom Benefits, allowing members to choose from a range of extra privileges to suit their lifestyle and travel preferences. It will also be the first airline to let members select their personalised membership numbers.
Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, said: “We are excited to announce a new era for the Etihad Guest programme with the experience of being a valued member about to reach new heights. The enhancements renew our partnership with our Etihad Guest members around the globe, meaning the more time they invest with us through flying and our lifestyle partners, the more rewarding and personalised their experiences become so that guests can journey on their terms, not ours.”
The programme will also introduce a new elite Diamond tier, recognising the airline’s top flyers with experiences that truly go beyond. Diamond and Platinum members can choose their personalised membership numbers.
The new programme will also make it easier and more rewarding for members to book flights with Etihad Guest Miles. The airline has revised its GuestSeats’ pricing and reduced the required miles for some of its most popular economic and Business destinations.
For example, members can now book a one-way guest from Abu Dhabi to London in Economy Class for 30,000 EYG Miles and taxes or from Milan to Abu Dhabi in Economy Class for 25,000 miles and taxes. Using their miles, members can also upgrade to The Residence, the airline’s luxury three-room suite in the sky.
Members will earn the same amount of Tier Miles, and Etihad Guest Miles on bookings made from June. Therefore, the higher the fare brand they book, the more Tier Miles and Etihad Guest Miles they earn. Platinum Tier members will also enjoy a 100 per bonus Etihad Guest Miles when flying with Etihad or any of its eligible airline partners.
Alongside their Core Benefits, such as lounge access, priority check-in and baggage, and excess baggage allowance, tiered members will be able to select from a range of Custom Benefits to enhance their travel experience. These include additional baggage allowance, seat selection, Wi-Fi vouchers, spa treatments, and more.
As members progress through their tiers, they will also unlock Beyond Benefits, which can be gifted to friends or family. These include Silver or Gold tier status, lounge passes, and Etihad Guest Bonus Miles.
“To move to a higher tier and unlock more benefits, Etihad Guest members will still need to earn a set number of Tier Miles, some of which must now be earned from flying,” Potter explained.
“We’ve simplified how members reach their new tiers by removing Tier Segments, creating a simpler way for Guests to track their progress to the next level.”
All Etihad Guest members will be able to earn and spend their miles on flights with the airline and more than 20 airline partners, which would extend the validity of their Etihad Guest Miles by 18 months.
They will continue collecting miles when they fly and with 150+ partners, including restaurants, hotels, car hire, and retailers.
Etihad Guest Miles can continue to be redeemed for a wide range of rewards, whether that be a free flight, a cabin upgrade, a special experience, or one of 3,500 products in the Reward Shop.
The new Etihad Guest Programme will be launched in June 2024, and existing members will be automatically enrolled. Members can learn more about the new programme and its benefits at www.etihadguest.com.
