Rakuten Travel ties up with DON DON DONKI for onsite travel promotion

Rakuten Travel announced today, 15th April, that it is collaborating with Japanese convenience chain DON DON DONKI for an interactive on-site event in Singapore titled Rakuten Travel Arcade: Capture Japan late this month.

This arcade-style event will bring authentic Japanese entertainment experiences to Singaporeans from 25th to 27th April at the Orchard Central shopping complex. 

According to Rakuten Travel Singapore’s country marketing manager Jasmine Seah: “Singapore is a key market for Rakuten Travel, and we are thrilled to launch this campaign together with the internationally recognized Japanese retailer DON DON DONKI. We believe this unique initiative will resonate with Singaporean travelers and inspire them to explore the wonders of Japan with us. Rakuten Travel is committed to provide our customers with a seamless and rewarding travel booking experience, offering them a wide selection of accommodations to create unforgettable memories in Japan.”

Through this initiative, Rakuten Travel aims to enhance its presence as the platform of choice for Singaporean travelers seeking seamless Japan travel experiences, offering an interactive introduction to modern Japanese culture

This engaging roadshow is set to offer immersive, modern Japanese entertainment experiences with a specially designed photo booth and claw machines, reminiscent of Japanese arcades.

Visitors who follow Rakuten Travel’s Instagram and TikTok accounts can participate in a claw machine experience and win exclusive prizes, including Rakuten Travel discount vouchers up to SGD 50 (minimum spend of SGD 400), DON DON DONKI vouchers (SGD 5 off purchases of SGD 30 or more), portable chargers, speakers, and furoshiki (traditional Japanese wrapping cloths.) 

Those who post a story from the photo booth featuring Rakuten Travel on social media will also receive DON DON DONKI’s famous baked sweet potatoes as a special bonus.

At the same time, DON DON DONKI app users are eligible for a discount of SGD 50 on Japan bookings exceeding SGD 500 when made through the Rakuten Travel platform. 

Rakuten Travel customers, on the other hand, will receive a five percent discount on purchases at DON DON DONKI stores, with a minimum spend requirement of SGD 30. 

These offers are valid until 30th September.
