Accessible tourism charity launches new initiatives and website

Tourism for All (TFA) has announced the launch of its new website, training platform and market intelligence bulletin.

The launch sees the charity re-invent itself through three new initiatives.

TFA Training is TFA’s new online training platform. It allows the charity to build modular training courses, including interactive features like videos and quizzes, that will equip TFA’s Partners and their staff to provide great service to disabled customers. The training will feature courses that cover all aspects of customer service, from disability and accessibility awareness to specialised technical and practical training.

The new and market intelligence bulletin – TFAQ’s – has been created to provide businesses and organisations with intelligence and insight to help them to understand the scope and value of the accessible tourism and travel market, the needs and wishes of the customers who make up that market and how to address those needs and wishes cost effectively to maximise their return from the accessible tourism and travel market.

TFAQ’s will appear four times a year and will combine new and updated survey-based research, carried out with its own community of tourists and travellers and with partners’ customer bases, plus expert opinion from TFA’s pool of expertise and from Partners.

TFA’s new website – www.tourismforall.org.uk – has been designed to meet the needs of the audiences with which TFA works: individuals, businesses, policy makers and healthcare professionals.

Visitors to the website will be able to learn more about – and subscribe to – the range of services which are delivered to those audiences, including personalised travel information service, online training, market intelligence, business promotion and new Healthcare Professionals Register, which makes TFA’s services available to the clients of healthcare professionals at reduced rates.

Tim Gardiner MBE, Tourism for All’s chairman, said: “It is only with the support and involvement of organisations and individuals who understand the massive business opportunity that accessible tourism and travel presents and who have enthusiastic and well informed staff that TFA can achieve its aims, and I am confident that our new website, training platform and market intelligence bulletin will prompt businesses of all sizes to engage with this important and growing market”.

May we all strive to emulate her virtues and remember that true wealth lies in the depth of our character, the sincerity of our actions, and the impact we have on those around us.”
