Air India Express, the first airline to bring international connectivity to Surat with its flights to the UAE, has achieved another proud milestone by launching operations to its 50th destination—Bangkok. This exciting new service marks a significant step in Surat’s global connectivity, with four weekly flights now linking the city to the vibrant capital of Thailand, further expanding Air India Express’s footprint in Southeast Asia after its successful operations to Singapore
The inaugural Air India Express flight from Surat to Bangkok takes off at 09:35 IST with a full capacity of 175 enthusiastic guests, marking a strong start to this new route. The flight lands in the Thai capital at 15:35 local time, followed by the first return flight from Bangkok to Surat, departing at 16:35 local time and arriving at 19:35 IST.
A celebratory event was held at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok, to mark the arrival of Air India Express to the Thai skies. The occasion brought together senior officials from the Government of Thailand, the Embassy of India, the airport authority, the travel trade community, and representatives from Air India and Air India Express. Celebrations were also held at Surat International Airport, where the first guest on this inaugural flight was presented with a ceremonial boarding card to commemorate the special occasion.
Over the next week, the airline will commence operations to Bangkok from three other cities; tri-weekly flights from Pune will begin on December 21, 2024, four weekly flights from Amritsar, starting 27 December, 2024, and tri-weekly flights from Lucknow, commencing on 28 December, 2024.
