7月1日，柬埔寨金边国际机场迎来阿联酋航空在柬埔寨的首个航班。
这是阿联酋航空在柬埔寨开通的第一条定期航线，也是中东国家航空公司在柬埔寨开通的首条航线。据了解，迪拜－金边航线采用波音777-300ER机型执飞。航线从迪拜飞往缅甸仰光室，然后继续飞来首都金边。金边、仰光航线开通于2014年，这是在此之后阿联酋航空又一次
金边是柬埔寨经济、旅游和文化的中心，近年旅游市场发展迅猛，此次定期航班的开通，预计将为中东旅客和投资者前来金边提供新的选择，促进两地间经贸和旅游交流与发展。
阿联酋航空公司表示，公司决定开通金边航线，是因为金边属于柬埔寨人口最多的城市，此外，由于基础设施取得迅速发展，使金边市已经成为旅游业和商业的重要目的地。
