Once you’ve become an SA expert, you can start developing inspiring South Australia itineraries for your clients. Luckily, there are plenty of resources to help you along the way. When you explore South Australia by region, you’ll find a little something for everyone.

Adelaide makes the perfect jumping off point for exploring South Australia. Located just 10 minutes from the international airport, the city has no shortage of stunning hotels, buzzing bars, vibrant galleries and mouth-watering dining. Home to an impressive annual roster of music, food, sporting and cultural events, Adelaide is a destination in itself. Learn more about what makes Adelaide the ultimate MICE destination here.

You’ll find endless inspiration in these curated South Australia itineraries. Not far outside of Adelaide, wine connoisseurs can explore the rich viniculture and picturesque countryside of Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Fleurieu and Barossa. Venture a little further inland and you’ll be immersed in the wildlife-rich wetlands of the Murray River. Less than three hours south of Adelaide, Kangaroo Island rolls rugged rock formations, rich wildlife and crystal waters teeming with marine life into an appealing long weekend getaway.

Head out on a longer trip and you can take in the towering rock formations of Flinders Ranges and the ancient outback, located around five hours north of Adelaide. Alternatively, head around the coastline to the Eyre Peninsula, where breathtaking coastal vistas and whale watching opportunities await.

If you want to explore beyond South Australia’s borders, the state is well connected to other notable destinations. Melbourne is best reached on a road trip along the Limestone Coast, which is dotted with stunning beaches, cavernous caves, mysterious sinkholes and irresistible food and wine experiences. South Australia is jam-packed with special interest experiences. Love the water? From snorkeling with sea lions to heart-racing shark cage diving, the Eyre Peninsula’s Port Lincoln is home to some of Australia’s best aquatic adventures. For something a little more relaxing, you can cruise down the Murray River on a houseboat. Closer to Adelaide, water sports enthusiasts can surf, snorkel and whale watch on the Fleurieu Peninsula or canoe the pristine waters of Coorong National Park.

If you prefer to stay on terra firma, hit one of South Australia’s many scenic cycling trails, check out some of the country’s greatest golf courses or take a breathtaking hike along the 1,500 km Heysen Trail – one of the world’s greatest walking trails. More walking adventures await on Kangaroo Island, where wildlife enthusiasts can encounter wild kangaroos, koalas and penguins. Further inland, you can embark on Arkaba Walk, which traverses Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges, where you can also unearth the area’s rich Aboriginal culture.

If you’re a foodie, you’ll be in heaven on the Epicurean Way road trip. Starting in Adelaide, this circular food and wine tour takes you to some of the country’s finest restaurants, wineries, microbreweries and farmers’ markets, with nature experiences dotted along the way.
