SkyscannerFinnair offers bookings within Skyscanner

Finnair passengers are now able to book flights and ancillaries via Skyscanner, without leaving the travel search site. The new initiative, which has been developed by Amadeus in line with IATA’s NDC standards, allows travel retailers such as Skyscanner to integrate Finnair’s flights, seats and ancillaries. This is aimed at boosting conversions for airlines in the meta-search channel.

Changi boxChangi allows travellers to convert loose change

Passengers traveling through Singapore’s Changi Airport can now use their unwanted coins. The airport’s new TravelersBox kiosks convert any currency – coins or notes – into digital gift cards which can be redeemed at a range of shops or online stores, including iTunes, JD.com, Grab, Tokpedia and Starbucks, or even for donations to charities such as the Red Cross.

SWISS Media BoxSWISS takes onboard newspapers online

SWISS has started offering its collection of onboard magazines and newspapers online. Using the Media Box service, passengers can  download more than 250 titles, including a limited number of free downloads. The selected titles are made available for download as a PDF file for an unlimited period. SWISS becomes the fifth Lufthansa Group airline to offer the service.

SCCSingapore ferry port to go solar-powered

From June 2017, Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal will become solar-powered. Under an agreement with Sunseap Group, the terminal will buy 100% of its energy requirements via a hybrid concept offer that allows it to harness both solar power and supply from the grid. A 650 kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system will be placed on top of the ferry terminal.
