We know women in the travel industry whom we admire and feel inspired by. Perhaps it is someone who has succeeded against all odds, someone whose courage defied biases or whose entrepreneurial spirit made the impossible possible.
We have heard and rejoiced the stories of incredible women in travel through the IWTA (Inspiring Women in Travel Asia) Series. Now, it is time to raise our glasses and honour them in a night of glamour at the inaugural TD IWTA Awards.
TD IWTA Awards celebrates inspiring women in different sectors of travel who have made a significant impact in the workplace or community. It also recognises companies that are safe workplaces for women that foster a respectful, equal-opportunity environment.
Thus, TD IWTA is calling for nominations and sponsors for the following categories. Nominate an inspiring woman you know or sponsor an award category and join us at Montien Surawong in Bangkok on 24 June 2023 where senior executives and distinguished travel trade professionals will come together to celebrate the stories, journeys, and contributions of women in travel in Asia.
Women Entrepreneurs in Travel Asia
This category recognises and celebrates women who always look for entrepreneurship avenues to support local or international trade through tourism; women who inspire others to jump in the beautiful industry of tourism; women who mentor others to contribute more to the tourism industry; and women who create memorable experiences centred around food and beverage.
- Excellence in Mentoring
This award recognises women who encourage and empower others in their personal development through the creation of a productive, engaged, and skilled workforce through an effective mentoring program.
Nominees acknowledge the potential of other people by helping them become the best version of themselves to contribute to the travel and tourism industry.

This award recognises women who have found and continuously finds opportunity and avenue to showcase food in tourism.
Nominees are innovative women who provide visitors with a unique and memorable tourism experience centred around food & beverage.
- Inspirational Entrepreneur
This award recognises entrepreneurs who make a difference in tourism with a pioneering spirit. Their influence encourages women to enter the tourism industry. They share a love of people, have a positive attitude, and make themselves heard and deliver solutions in the travel industry that inspire others.
Nominees are female entrepreneurs who make a difference in tourism with a pioneering spirit, who dare to dream, have a vision, a goal and a desire to show that there are no limits.
Women of Corporate Social Responsibility
This category recognises and celebrates women who integrate the heart for corporate social responsibility in the fibre of their being; women who advocate for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); women who help in preserving local traditions of communities in travel; and women who centre on inclusivity in diversity.
- Sustainable Development Advocate
This award recognises women who provide enriching experiences for tourists and develop a better understanding of local cultural, social and environmental issues. They show commitment to achieving sustainable development goals. They contribute to the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
Nominees are women role models through their impactful CSR framework that clearly outlines sustainability, stakeholder engagement and values alignment.
- Community Champion
This award recognises women leaders who make a difference through more meaningful connections with local people; the women achievers who have created travel experiences which highlight respect and involvement in the traditions of local communities. Their business and activities show the improvement in the quality of life for the community through active engagement and collaboration.

This award recognises women who relentlessly perform philanthropic deeds. They are women whose mission is no one left behind. They are women who support charitable causes and find a way to promote altruistic activities by having travel and tourism as their platform.

This category recognises and celebrates the women of the future of Asian travel; women who innovate new practices; women who create or discover new technologies; women who contribute fresh ideas – all for the betterment of current practices and anticipation of the future.
