Celebrity Cruises will be making its Scottish debut next year as Barrhead Travel revealed they are bringing the Miami based company’s five-star ship Celebrity Reflection up to Greenock as a part of its thrilling Iceland and Ireland itinerary.
The two companies have signed a deal of exclusivity for the exciting tour around northern Europe, after Barrhead negotiated the special embarkation point at Greenock Port for its customers, as well as guaranteeing that the itinerary will be unavailable from any other operator.
Discussing the arrival of the Solstice-class cruise ship – capable of housing over 3,609 passengers — Catriona Parsons, cruise director at Barrhead Travel said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Celebrity Reflection to Greenock next May. Offering our customers choice when it comes to cruise is hugely important for our business and we understand the difference it can make to holiday plans when you have the option to explore incredible destinations right from your doorstep.
Greenock is a choice port for many major incoming cruise-lines thanks to the diverse range of landscapes and things to do in close proximity. We are delighted that Celebrity Cruises has also recognised it as a key embarkation point and we are certain that our customers across Scotland and the wider UK will be as excited as we are to welcome another UK cruise departure offering a unique itinerary.”

Celebrity cruises’ strategic account manager for Scotland, Andrew Boulton, said: “Sailings on Celebrity Reflection in 2019 are proving exceptionally popular and we are thrilled to work alongside Barrhead Travel to ensure our guests in Scotland can embark their cruise a little closer to home. We look forward to showcasing the real grass lawn, award-winning restaurants and bars, and luxury accommodation of Celebrity Reflection to Scottish cruisers.”
Celebrity Reflection will haul anchor and set off from Greenock for the 9-night cruise on May 17 2019. And will take in Reykjavik and Akureyri in Iceland, as well as the Scottish Shetland Islands before hitting final destinations Cork and Dublin in Ireland. From there Barrhead Travel customers will be flown to their regional airport of choice.
