CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels unveils CUBE Social@Boat Quay

Following the success of its earlier openings, Singapore’s CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels has launched its first CUBE Social@Boat Quay in the historic riverside area along the Singapore River. 

According to chief executive Mohd K Rafin: “Elevated from the original boutique capsule concept, CUBE Social is redesigned to provide well-travelled guests looking at affordable premium lifestyle capsule accommodation but also a space that encourages social interaction within an elegant setting. This property is situated in a restored heritage shophouse sited in a historically significant precinct that was once a vital trading hub in the founding of Singapore.” 

CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels began operations with the first CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotel in Chinatown in 2016 and the second one in Kampong Glam in February 2018.

This was later followed by a new family capsule concept in Chinatown in 2019. 

The hotel chain’s locations reflect the group’s commitment for heritage shophouse accommodation located in prime enclaves targeted at savvy, sociable travellers yearning for immersive cultural experiences.

CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels target savvy travelers seeking high-quality, affordable accommodation without sacrificing comfort or lifestyle. 

By providing popular hotel amenities and services like daily housekeeping, 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi, digital access and all-day refreshments, along with modern features such as universal plugs, CUBE offers an upscale experience at a budget-friendly price.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg as Rafin added: “We are open to exploring opportunities for franchising or joint ventures with owners of heritage shophouses in suitable locations who would like to capitalize on asset enhancement in Singapore and beyond.” 

Regarding expansion plans, the company is focusing on neighboring Southeast Asian countries as key areas for growth, particularly locations like Bali, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Penang and Sydney.

Compact, comfortable, and chic

Similar to its sister properties, the three-storey CUBE Social@Boat Quay consists of 72 capsules fitted with a mixture of queen-sized and single beds. 

There are 13 private rooms ranging from 11 sqm to 30 sqm designed to accommodate small groups or families, with one room specifically equipped for wheelchair accessibility. 

Fitted with plush mattresses and high-quality 300-thread count linen duvet, each capsule is well designed to moderate its own temperature and air-flow; and solidly insulated to reduce ambient noise for a comfortable rest. 

Each capsule is equipped with a universal electrical outlet protected with a childproof adaptor, room safe, mirror/vanity area, foldable table, bedside light, embedded cove light for ambient mood, footwear lockers and ample luggage cabinets. 

Each capsule has been meticulously designed with the guest experience in mind for a comfortable night’s sleep. 

Like all the other locations, CUBE Social @ Boat Quay has been created with thoughtful attention to detail– even the individual bathrooms are well-ventilated and stocked with environmentally friendly conditioning shampoo and shower gel. 

An amenity bar stocked with complimentary amenities such as in-room slippers, combs, shower cap, ear plugs, eye mask, shaver, mouth rinse, compressed face towel and disposable underwear are available for guests to help themselves. 

CUBE Social also has a separate section with 20 beds for women only, adding an extra level of comfort and privacy for female travellers. 

For socialising purposes, books and board games are available.

At CUBE Social@Boat Quay, guests take an elevator to the third floor, where they check into a plush art décor inspired reception illuminated by an elegant chandelier. 

Just a few steps away is the bar lounge which serves as a relaxed social space for guests to enjoy all-day refreshments. 

Outdoor seating on the verandahs offers views of the Singapore River and the vibrant atmosphere of the historic settlement, while stationary bikes are available for guest use on the verandah. 

There is also a private soundproof telephone booth for guests to take or make calls in private.
