As Easter 2025 fast approaches, the global travel landscape is buzzing with festive energy, offering key insights into this year’s travel trends. According to Trevolution Group’s Easter travel report, a surge in international travel is shaping up to make this year one of the busiest yet, with long-haul adventures, emerging overseas destinations, cultural experiences, and “bleisure” travel stealing the spotlight.
Making the most of the Easter weekend holidays, many American travellers are setting their sights on culturally rich overseas destinations. Nature lovers and adventure seekers are booking scenic locations like the Swiss Alps, Scotland, and Japan, while those in search of cultural experiences and more traditional celebrations are securing Easter getaways to iconic cities such as Florence, Seville, Athens, and Jerusalem.
Families are prioritizing fun with trips to Disneyland Paris, Orlando theme parks, and London; however, beach lovers are embracing tropical escapes in the Maldives, Canary Islands, and Bali. The top five global hotspots Trevolution Group’s customers will be heading to during this year’s Easter break include the Philippines, India, Italy, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
April 16 to 20 marks the prime departure window, with Wednesday, the 16th, seeing the highest volume of travellers—25% above average. Interestingly enough, only 6% of vacationers have secured their trips more than 90 days in advance. A significant 57% prefer planning one to three months ahead, while 37% are booking within a one-month window, showing a 25% surge in last-minute Easter travel and highlighting the spontaneity driving holiday-centered travel patterns.
Age demographics reveal that the largest segment of travellers falls within the 40–64 age group, representing 38% of Easter voyagers, followed by the 25–39 and 65+ age groups, both at 19%. Children and teens (0–24) collectively account for another 24%, pointing to the strong presence of family travel and the urge to enjoy shared experiences.
When it comes to this year’s Easter travel costs, the Group’s sales reveal that ticket prices for economy seats in April are on the rise, averaging between $706 and $761 and peaking on April 19th. A 20% overall hike in airfare prices compared to previous seasons suggests planning ahead and booking flights at least a month in advance remains a smart strategy for budget-conscious travellers. Along with aiming for mid-week departures and early morning/late night flights that are generally more affordable and less crowded.
In terms of broader travel behaviors, the report shows a 45% spike in holiday weekend bookings, with road trips and domestic getaways also rising by 30%. As more travellers are blending business and leisure while seeking rich, immersive experiences, Easter 2025 is shaping up to be a season of meaningful exploration, connection, and balance between work and well-deserved time off.
