Fiji Airways is extending its seasonal service to San Francisco, following its first year of operations.
The direct US route first launched in June 2016 and will resume with the extended service in June 2017. Now operating year-round, flights will run twice a week, increasing to three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) in the high season from June to August, as well as in December.
“Our expansion out of SFO represents our position as the premier carrier for Fiji and the South Pacific, as well as being a gateway carrier to Australia and New Zealand,” said Fiji Airways’ managing director & CEO, Andre Viljoen.
“We are buoyed by the increasing demand from business, leisure and visiting friends and family segments to the South Pacific and beyond from the San Francisco Bay area and the greater northwest.”
Fiji Airways’ San Francisco flight departs Nadi at 2215 and arrives in the Californian city at 1345. The return service then leaves San Francisco at 2300 and lands back in Nadi at 0510. The 10-hour flights are operated using an Airbus A330 aircraft.
