Fiji is planning to open its border for international tourists by 1 November. This was revealed by Fiji Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama who announced that they are planning to reopen Fiji for tourism by November.
The PM further said: “That’s the target we’ve set now, and it bases itself on the success we’ve had with the vaccination campaign.”
Faiyaz Koya, tourism minister in Fiji believes its ultimate goal is to safely restore quarantine-free travel. He said: “So, in order to get there, we need to, first and foremost, restore the trust as a tourism destination and Tourism Fiji will play a critical role in building this particular trust.”
A gorgeous island country in Melanesia, Fiji comprises an archipelago of more than 330 islands. Among these, 110 islands are permanently inhabited. The destination is noted for its pristine and clean beaches; some of the popular regions being Nadi, the Coral Coast, Denarau Island, and Mamanuca Islands. Besides, the destination is also home to a number of soft coral reefs, making it a perfect spot to enjoy scuba diving. Yasawa Island, Denarau Island and Beqa Lagoon are considered a paradise for divers.
