Experienced hotelier Will Macpherson has been named general manager of the new Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West hotel, which is scheduled to open this summer.
The 160 bedroom modular build hotel is sited on the Heriot Watt University Campus in Edinburgh and adjacent to Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre and only a few miles from Edinburgh airport.
Macpherson, began his 20-year career in hospitality in Edinburgh, and boasts an impressive CV having worked with some of the most reputable brands in the industry – most recently as general manager of Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre.
“This will be the first hotel launch I’ve had the opportunity to oversee and I’m relishing the start of an exciting and challenging journey both for myself professionally and that of the property,” he said.
“The new hotel is shaping up nicely and will be another exciting offering for the capital. Located only six miles from the Edinburgh city centre and with excellent transport links, the Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West will be ideal for business travellers as well as tourists. I look forward to welcoming guests and visitors when we open this summer.”
The hotel is owned and being developed by Polcom Developments, best known for its award-winning, specialised modular construction across Europe.
