Grantley Hall opens doors after three-year renovation

A five-star luxury hotel, Grantley Hall, in the heart of the rolling Yorkshire countryside with its own English Heritage-listed Japanese garden, is set to open its doors following a major renovation project to restore the building back to its original Palladian splendour. The venue will welcome its first guest from 6 July following a three-year restoration of the mansion house.

Owned by Yorkshire local Valeria Sykes, the Grade-II listed mansion is a member of the association of hotels and restaurants Relais & Châteaux.

State-of-the-art staff accommodation will be available in the new courtyard building featuring 47 ensuite bedrooms, several kitchens, informal lounge areas, cinema room, a fully-equipped gymnasium with fitness classes including yoga and mindfulness planned. It also includes the Three Graces Spa and multi-space Elite luxury gym.

As a patron of New Light, a charitable initiative supporting visual arts in the north of England, Valeria has chosen an eclectic selection of art from local artists to adorn the walls of Grantley Hall.

Grantley Hall’s culinary credentials will not disappoint with the highly acclaimed British chef, Shaun Rankin topping the bill.  The Yorkshire-born chef, who gained his first Michelin star in 2005, is returning to his roots to preside over Grantley Hall’s fine dining restaurant, Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall.

Andrew McPherson, general manager, Grantley Hall said, “We will welcome our first guests to Grantley Hall on 6 July, marking this new and exciting chapter for this historic property.”
