IWTA speaks with Ayu Kristiana Country Manager Discova Indonesia
Background:
Ayu grew up in the paradise of Bali and was surrounded by her family who all worked in the tourism industry. As a little girl she dreamt of following their career path and saw how travel help people connect and how much you can learn about someone else.
After graduating and gaining a diploma in Tourism, she quickly got her first job in the industry she loved so much and hasn’t looked back since.
She is passionate about giving back to the local communities and through the most challenging time for our industry managed, together with her team, to help a community change their crops from chemically to organically grown. They even created skills workshops for the women in the village and have many plans on how they can continue their support to this community using tourism as their vehicle.
Get inspired by Ayu’s story, a woman who never gives up and who embraces a challenge and continuously pushed herself outside of her comfort zone.
