Background:
Alexa Pham moved from NYC to Thailand to start the Chai Lai Orchid, an eco-resort in Chiang Mai. Alexa believes that travel can also be a force for good and have a positive impact on the destination. Chai Lai Orchid ecolodge was founded with the goal of providing job opportunities and support to marginalized women in the region, particularly those from ethnic minority groups, and to promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices. The Chai Lai Orchid offers a unique experience for visitors, ethical tourism that benefits both the local community and the environment. Guests can stay in rustic bamboo bungalows, and enjoy eco-friendly adventures like going on jungle treks, explore nearby waterfalls, and caring for rescued elephants.
Alexa Pham is also the cofounder of Daughters Rising, a non profit organisation empowering and educating at-risk girls to end exploitation.
