Japan Airlines has introduced a new special aircraft livery to celebrate the PGA Tour’s first official golf tournament to be hosted in Japan.
The national carrier is sponsoring the “Japan Airlines Championship”, which is due to take place at the Narita Golf Course, close to Tokyo’s Narita Airport, in September.
To mark the occasion, JAL will introduce a specially painted aircraft on its international routes from early August 2017.
This one-off Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will feature a PGA Tour logo on its livery, and will be deployed on routes from Narita to US destinations including Chicago, New York JFK and Los Angeles from 4 August onwards.
In addition to the external paintwork, passengers onboard the 777 will be able to enjoy special golf features, including player interviews in the in-flight magazine and entertainment system.
The Japan Airlines Championship will run from 8-10 September 2017.
