Korean Air will operate seasonal charter services between Seoul Incheon and Taichung, Taiwan from May 2 to June 29. Flights on the Seoul Incheon-Taichung route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights depart from Seoul Incheon at 3:30 pm and arrive at Taichung at 5:15 pm. The return flight departs at 6:50 pm from Taichung to land at Seoul Incheon at 10:40 pm (all times local). The route will be served by a Boeing 737-8, configured with 146 seats, eight in Prestige class and 138 in economy class. Reservations can be made on Korean Air’s website, mobile app or through travel agencies.
Taichung is the second largest city in Taiwan and is located in the central part of the island. It has recently been featured as a noteworthy travel destination on several TV programs in Korea, and is gaining attention as an up-and-coming destination in Taiwan.
Taichung is especially famous for its Gaomei Wetlands, which are often referred to as the Uyuni Salt Flat of the East. Visitors can also take a cruise and experience a cable car ride on the Sun Moon Lake, which is considered one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan. Fengjia Night Market also offers a diverse range of culinary delights for visitors to enjoy.
With this new service, Korean Air will operate a total of 24 roundtrip flights per week between Seoul Incheon and Taiwan: 14 between Seoul Incheon and Taipei; seven between Busan and Taipei; and three between Seoul Incheon and Taichung. Korean Air plans to offer more convenient and diverse schedules for travelers visiting Taiwan.
