Luxury alpine property gets new cable car for 2020

Powered snow paradise Kiroro, in the heart of Hokkaido, has announced the launch of its Gateway Express combination lift.

Kiroro is an alpine resort in the heart of Hokkaido, away from the crowds of other nearby resorts and offering Japan’s deepest snow and untouched scenery. With over 20 metres of powder snow every winter, Kiroro offers a ski and snowboard haven with quiet slopes, plush powder and entertainment around every corner.

The ski resort features two peaks with 22 groomed runs and acres of ungroomed, off-piste powder and tree skiing, accessible by 9 lifts and a gondola. The resort’s Mountain Center coordinates activities on and off the mountain, which include a snow park, guided snowcat and snowshoeing tours and more.

The new Gateway Express is a combination lift offering 17 people gondolas and 34 people chairs that connects the entire Kiroro Resort. Running from the front of The Tribute Portfolio & new Yu Kiroro residences to the Sheraton Hokkaido, the new lift creates ski-in/ski-out access for all Kiroro resort accommodations.

Kiroro offers a choice of luxury accommodations ranging from award-winning resort hotels to private, ski-to-door luxury residences. Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort offers 140 guestrooms and suites along with two restaurants right at the base of the slopes; while The Kiroro, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Hokkaido offers 281 guestrooms with mountain vistas from every room, world-class facilities and five dining options and ski-in/ski-out luxury with the brand new gondola-chairlift to take guests directly to the slopes.

Yu Kiroro, scheduled to be completed by the end of the year and already over 70% sold, is an award-winning collection of exclusive ski-in ski-out private residences at the base of the mountain. Yu Kiroro features 1, 2, 3-bedroom and penthouse freehold luxury private residences that are fully-furnished with premium services such as ski valet, a natural indoor-outdoor onsen, 24-hour concierge, fitness centre and lounge, and all-day dining
