Macao showcases its best at Jakarta’s ASTINDO Travel Fair

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) took part in this year’s ASTINDO Travel Fair in Jakarta, Indonesia from 20th to 23rd February.

Macanese tourism officials brought a delegation of Macao’s integrated resort enterprises and airline to join ASTINDO Travel Fair 2025, as well as the city’s tourism mascot MAK MAK to the event.

The MGTO regaled locals with its mega Macao Pavilion which showcased the special autonomous region’s exceptional Tourism + experiences, highlighting the destination’s appeal for Indonesian and Southeast Asian visitors.

A taste of Macao

The pavilion featured Portuguese tiles and Portuguese patterned stone pavement, elements that captured the Sino-Portuguese vibe of the city.

It also highlighted Macao’s World Heritage, status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, events and offer of leisure travel experiences, showcasing Macao’s colourful exuberance.

Likewise, MGTO hosted four interactive sessions highlighting the destination for the public, coupled with lion dance and Portuguese folk dance performances to engage more visitors.

The Office also partnered with participating businesses to sell Macao tourism products and encourage potential visitors for a journey into this unique city.

Active participation

The annual international travel fair organised by the Indonesian Travel Agents Association (ASINTDO) is one of Indonesia’s largest consumer travel events, engaging a great number of travel destinations, airlines. and tourism operators.

Over the past two years, MGTO has participated in ASTINDO Travel Fairs in both Jakarta and Surabaya.

ASTINDO invited the MGTO yet again this year, together with the territory’s travel sector professionals.

In doing so, MGTO raised Macao’s profile as an international destination to boost arrivals from Indonesia as well as the rest of Southeast Asia.
