Malaysia Airlines is taking travel trade partners on a tour of Malaysia on its largest familiarisation trip yet.
The group, which will include 30 representatives from some of travel agencies including Trailfinders, STA Travel, Kuoni Group and TUI, will travel from London aboard the Airbus A380 in business class.
Attendees will split into two groups with separate week-long itineraries. Those looking to experience the culture and cuisine of Malaysia will be taken on a Senses trip, including a Malaysian cooking experience in Northern Penang, a walking tour of the George Town World Heritage Site and an island-hopping excursion around Langkawi Archipelago.
The second group will embark on an Adventure Trip to Borneo, including a sunset cruise aboard a catamaran, a trip to the world’s largest and oldest orangutan conservation centre at Sandakan Sepilok and the chance to snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Both groups will converge in Kuala Lumpur for a tour of the Petronas Twin Towers and a celebratory dinner to close the trip.
Adrian Keating, Malaysia Airlines’ regional manager for the UK, Ireland, Europe & North America, said: “Malaysia Airlines is a brand that is embedded in the culture and diversity of Malaysia and we are delighted to highlight all that the region has to offer. We know how beneficial FAM trips are for agents’ knowledge and we are committed to working closely with the travel trade to help showcase the best of Malaysia in the air and on the ground.”
Shahrir Ali, director Tourism Malaysia (UK & Ireland), said: “We are delighted to be supporting Malaysia Airlines in hosting this mega FAM for the travel trade. Initiatives like these enable us to educate and inform frontline agents on Malaysia’s richness and diversity. From tropical islands to a thriving 21st-century capital city to a 130-million-year-old rainforest, we have it all.”
