缅甸政府日前展开了一项呼吁，呼吁国际企业们继续加大对其旅游业的投资。
上周，在于新加坡举行的2017年东盟旅游论坛（ASEAN Tourism Forum 2017）上，缅甸酒店&旅游部部长U Ohn Maung表示，许多与众不同的旅游目的地，包括Mergui Archipelago在内，非常欢迎投资项目的到来。
“现在是最佳的投资缅甸旅游的时机，缅甸正以前所未有的姿态向全球开放。我们有着丰富的旅游资源，非常适合世界级的酒店和度假村在这里开辟一段与众不同的旅行体验，”U Ohn Maung在新加坡表示。
“探索缅甸不仅仅是在蒲甘探索考古遗址，或是前往金色的佛塔。我们有着绝佳的海滩，我们希望旅客们能够前往缅甸南部旅游，发现这些美丽的景色，圣洁的海滩以及在Megui的自然公园，一起庆祝当地的节日和独特的文化，包括在Kayin、Chin、Mon以及Kayah省份，”部长说到。
根据来自缅甸酒店&旅游部的资料，2016年缅甸旅游部门的外来直接投资达到近30亿美元。新加坡（16亿）是缅甸最大的投资国，接下来是泰国（4.45亿）和越南（4.40亿）。
