Milan Bergamo Airport is thrilled to announce an exciting winter with a host of new routes and increased frequencies, setting the stage for the busiest season ever in 2023/24. With a dynamic blend of new destinations, airline additions, and increased frequencies, Milan Bergamo Airport will connect travellers to some of the most charming cities in Europe and beyond.
New routes and airline additions
Ryanair is bringing new destinations to Milan Bergamo Airport this winter, strengthening connectivity, and offering passengers even more choice, whether traveling for leisure, business or visiting friends and family. Since 31 October, Ryanair offers a two-weekly service to Kaunas, Lithuania, with flights departing on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This new route opens doors to a destination with a rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscapes.
Connectivity to the Albanian capital of Tirana has been enhanced with a new double daily service, also operated by Ryanair since 31 October. As of 4 November, Milan Bergamo Airport has begun welcoming travellers to the magical winter wonderland of Rovaniemi in Finland. Flights on this route, operated by Ryanair, will be available on Tuesdays and Saturdays, providing excellent opportunities to explore enchanting Lapland.
We are equally excited to introduce Cabo Verde Airlines, a new addition to our airline portfolio, which connects Milan Bergamo Airport to Sal Island in Cape Verde, each Saturday from 4 November. The addition of this stunning island destination expands our connectivity to Africa.
For the upcoming winter holidays, Air Arabia will increase its frequencies to Sharjah, providing passengers with even more options to connect to this dynamic Emirate and transfer onwards to numerous points in Pakistan, India and other countries.
Reduced seasonality with more winter flights
Milan Bergamo Airport is pleased to announce that several airlines that have recently launched operations will maintain their flights during the winter season as well. Passengers will be able to continue exploring the enchanting city of Tbilisi with Georgian Airways or connect onwards to neighbouring countries. Visiting Nantes and Oviedo has been made possible in the winter with Volotea. flydubai’s service to Dubai will continue and is code-shared by Emirates for a seamless travel experience and onward connections to Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Africa, and Australia. For something closer to home, Aeroitalia will offer increased frequencies during the holiday period to destinations such as Catania and Comiso.
Infrastructure improvements and development
Milan Bergamo Airport is committed to providing a world-class travel experience. As part of this commitment, we are proud to announce ongoing works on the extension of the apron, including a new taxiway north and two runway links. These developments will further enhance the efficiency and capacity of Milan Bergamo Airport, ensuring that travellers experience a smoother and more enjoyable journey.
Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, SACBO, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited to welcome our passengers to our busiest winter season yet. The new routes, airline additions, and infrastructure improvements demonstrate our dedication to expanding connectivity options and serving the needs of our travellers. We are committed to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience for all our passengers.”
With these new routes, increased frequencies, and infrastructure improvements, Milan Bergamo Airport is well-prepared to welcome travellers and provide a memorable winter season in 2023/24.
