Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Pearl sailed into her seasonal homeport of Miami this morning following a two week dry dock where every stateroom and many of the ship’s public areas were revitalised to provide a fresh modern look. Norwegian Pearl’s extensive renovation is a part of The Norwegian Edge, an investment programme that sets a high standard of excellence for the Norwegian brand, encompassing the entire guest experience.
“Norwegian Pearl is one of our most beloved ships. With this dry dock we wanted to provide her with a refreshed, clean and modern onboard atmosphere while maintaining the ship’s overall charm and flexibility that our guests enjoy so much,” said Andy Stuart, Norwegian Cruise Line president and chief executive officer.
“Through The Norwegian Edge programme we are continuing to heavily invest in our fleet to ensure that guests have a consistent experience across all Norwegian ships and the freedom to create their ideal cruise vacation.”
Every one of Norwegian Pearl’s 1,197 staterooms was touched in this dry dock modernisation. All accommodations received a completely refreshed look with cool blue hues reminiscent of the calming ocean with silver and turquoise accents.
Each stateroom features new furniture, new carpeting, new headboards, new televisions as well as the addition of USB outlets where guests can charge their handheld devices. Across the ship, more than 2,200 pieces of art work were installed for guests to enjoy in their staterooms as well as in Cagney’s Restaurant and The Haven.
