Even though we are at the peak of summer – the summer solstice is still in fact two weeks away – travel agents need to be a few steps ahead. Even though the sun is still high the sky, the colder months are looming on the horizon so luxury cruise line Ponant has opened up shop for winter 2019-2020.

Following the announcement of its amazing winter 2019-2020 Antarctic trips, the French company has unveiled a tantalising range of new intineraries taking in the winter sun in sultry locations such as Mexico, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, as well as across Asia and Oceania.

Thanks to the addition of new ships Le Lapérouse, Le Champlain, Le Bougainville and Le Dumont d’Urville (four of the company’s six new ships), Ponant is able to double the number of tropical itineraries on offer, boosting its product departures from 50 to 100 departures.

Featuring 92 staterooms, all four of the new cruisers have environmental concerns built into their construction and are completed with ingenious tech to help protect the world around us.

In addition, these vessels are all fitted with Blue Eye, an underwater multi-sensory lounge which allows passengers to observe the underwater world up close.

Treasures of the Red Sea

This trip steps past the veils of antiquity as it passes iconic landmarks from the classical world including the temples of Luxor, Karnak and Hatchepsout, the Valley of the Kings, and the tombs of Tutankhamun, Nefertari and Seti.

The Mayan treasures of the Yucatan

This brand new itinerary for Ponant will take passengers on a voyage into the “authentic heart of Yucatan”, the home of the lost Mayan civilisation to discover the city of Chichén Itzà and the pre-Columbian architecture of Uxmal.

At the heart of the Indian Ocean

Ponant will take passengers on a trip exploring the Vanilla Islands, including the Seychelles and the Scattered Islands, thanks to five brand-new itineraries taking in the paradise islands, to witness the flora and fauna and peaceful lagoons.
