Princess Cruises Celebrates 65th Anniversary of Alaska Statehood as Leading Cruise Line

As Alaska celebrates its 65th anniversary of statehood, Princess Cruises—a name that has come to represent elegance, adventure, and world-class hospitality—is pleased to join in the festivities. Alaska has been on an amazing journey, and Princess Cruises, as the top Alaska vacation provider, has been there, bringing millions of tourists from all over the world to see its breathtaking landscapes and fascinating cultures.

“Alaska’s statehood marked a historic moment in American history, opening doors to a world of opportunities and possibilities, and we salute this very important anniversary,” said Terry Thornton, chief commercial officer for Princess. “Princess Cruises has been a proud partner in Alaska’s growth and prosperity, providing unforgettable experiences, contributing to its economy, and fostering a deep appreciation for its unique heritage. We look back with pride on the incredible memories we’ve shared with millions of guests who have explored its pristine wilderness, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant communities with us.”

Like the 49th state, Princess will have its landmark anniversary in 2024, commemorating the 55th year of sailing guests to Alaska. The 2024 season spans from May to September. Princess Cruises will once again offer more choices than any other cruise line, with seven gorgeous cruise ships and five picturesque Wilderness Lodges covering every part of Alaska. There are appealing holiday options for every budget and duration.

The leading cruise line in Alaska consistently earns acclaim for its exceptional itineraries, unique shore excursions, the exclusive “North to Alaska” destination-specific enrichment programme, delightful locally sourced seafood, and various other offerings. Having recently achieved its highest-ever guest satisfaction rates in 2023. the cruise experience completely immerses tourists in the state’s rich culture, making it an outstanding option for families of all sizes.

The 2024 season promises to be the biggest and best, with 158 departures on 14 unique itineraries to 17 destinations, including five glacier viewing experiences on seven stunning ships. The 55th anniversary season of the cruise line also includes 91 visits to Glacier Bay National Park, the most of any cruise line, including “Voyage of the Glaciers” itineraries between Anchorage (Whittier) and Vancouver, B.C., and Inside Passage voyages round-trip from Seattle, San Francisco, and Vancouver, B.C.

Ruby Princess will provide seven-day Inside Passage cruises, including Glacier Bay National Park, round-trip from Vancouver beginning in 2024. The cruises visit four breathtaking destinations, including Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Endicott Arm and the scenic cruising of Dawes Glacier.

In addition, there are over 20 fantastic cruise tours (cruise + land tour) that combine the unmatched Princess cruise experience with visits to the sights of Denali National Park, the Kenai Peninsula, Copper River, Fairbanks, and Anchorage, all from the comfort of the exclusive Princess lodges. In 2024, two new cruise tours will debut to commemorate the 55th anniversary:

  • National Parks Tour – A 15-night adventure to five of Alaska’s most breathtaking parks, including Glacier Bay, Denali, and Wrangell-St. Elias, Kenai Fjords National Parks, and Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in Skagway. This experience combines a seven-day cruise, scenic rail travel, and eight nights land, including stays at four Princess-owned wilderness lodges.
  • Katmai National Park Tour – A nine-day cruise tour, which includes two nights in Anchorage, where guests have the chance to embark on an intimate bear-watching experience at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. This tour immerses travellers in the heart of Alaska’s wilderness, allowing them to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat before or after sailing on a seven-day Voyage of the Glaciers cruise, including a coveted visit to Glacier Bay National Park.

Some myths, such as the idea that an Alaskan cruise would be too expensive, need debunking. There are many affordable ways to visit Alaska on board a Princess ship, and there is a wide range of accommodations to choose from, including balcony, mini-suite, and suite options.

An internal stateroom, for example, is an outstanding deal for the money, and it offers several opportunities to take in the breathtaking scenic Alaska from the ship’s multiple view decks and comfortable interior spaces. The unmatched Princess MedallionClass experience provides the pinnacle of seamless, personalised sailing and is available to all guests regardless of the stateroom they choose.
