Additional departures have been scheduled throughout October 2023 and are already booking out quickly. The demand for the journey shows domestic travel is recovering. International visitors are starting to return and Australians are continuing to seek connection to country with a quintessentially Australian experience, no passport needed.

chief revenue officer Peter Egglestone says “We’re delighted with the amount of interest shown for this iconic rail journey, by both Australians and returning international visitors. We’re also proud of our team, who have put in a great deal of effort to extend The Ghan’s capacity, working closely with ARTC and Pacific National to provide these additional departures.”

Availability on these departures is limited, so guests wishing to journey on The Ghan should book soon to secure their cabin.
