Royal Caribbean Unveils Unseen Venues on Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean Unveils Unseen Venues on Icon of the Seas

- April 11, 2023

Royal Caribbean has revealed some new details about the Icon of the Seas. The news is something to toast to additional bars and lounges, including more themed venues, smaller spaces, and never-before-seen-on-a-Royal Caribbean ship offerings. With so many wonderful alternatives around the ship, passengers will never be thirsty.

New Icon of the Seas Bars

Royal Caribbean International has conducted considerable market research to give customers exactly what they want for their holidays. This study has resulted in new bar options on the Icon of the Seas.

The ship will include more than 15 bars and lounges, ranging from brand-new concepts to returning cruiser favourites.

“From all-new venues and bolder favourites to new iconic drinks on every menu, zero-proof cocktails and twists on classics, there’s something for everyone on Icon of the Seas to make the most of their nights out,” said Linken D’Souza, Royal Caribbean International’s vice president of food and beverage.

The Duelling Pianos

Duelling Pianos will premiere on Icon of the Seas’ Royal Promenade featuring high-intensity live music for guests to sing along to. The bar will include a pair of baby grand pianos and outstanding pianists who will take song requests and provide a joyful, dynamic atmosphere every evening, a first for any Royal Caribbean ship.

“These duelling pianos experience keeps coming up as a guest favourite in all of the research we’ve done,” said Claudia Diaz-Gonzalez, assistant vice president of product development at Royal Caribbean International. “There’s no holding back from just singing at the top of your lungs and seeing the two vocalists duel.”

“We loved the idea of the piano players interacting with the audience and creating that ambience that brings late-night entertainment to life.”

Lou’s Jazz and Blues

Jazz and Blues at Lou’s

Lou’s Jazz and Blues, a live jazz club for both classics and pop with a combination of both New York and New Orleans jazz genres, will give Central Park a fresh and distinct atmosphere.

On Deck 8, the facility will provide indoor and outdoor café seating among the hundreds of live plants, giving Central Park its distinct look for an oceangoing vessel.

Rye & Bean

Rye & Bean, an innovative all-day bar with an evolving menu for different moods at different times, will be located on Deck 15 of the AquaDome.

In the morning, a vibrant coffee shop will serve everything from cappuccinos to lattes. Throughout the day, it will transition into an espresso bar serving espresso cocktails and other coffee-infused libations for those with more refined tastes.

1400 Lobby Bar

The 1400 Lobby Bar, inspired by Icon of the Seas’ unique shipbuilding number, will be located on Deck 5.

“The hull number on every ship is unique to that ship, and on the emblem of the seas, that number was 1400,” D’Souza explained. “The 1400 Lobby Bar is our way of paying tribute to all the hardworking people who built this fantastic and iconic shop.”

Not only will the bar offer a range of drinks from tropical juice-based favourites to more sophisticated, elegant cocktails, but it will also be the first lobby bar in the Royal Caribbean fleet to open to the outdoors with an ocean-facing terrace.

Bubbles

Another new venue will be Bubbles, a walk-up champagne bar window for grab-and-go glasses, bottles, and a signature cocktail in Central Park on Deck 8.

The bar will be open throughout the day whenever visitors want a glass of bubbly, with mimosas, prosecco, and bellinis available.

The Overlook

The Overlook, an elevated lounge with unique nooks for outstanding views only steps from the popular aqua shows, will become another hotspot in the AquaDome area.

The edgy decor retains an oceanic atmosphere for relaxation. It is intended as a perfect area for visitors to get away while being close to the ship’s hotspots.

Returning Favourites  In addition to the new bars and lounges, Icon of the Seas will feature popular destinations from around the fleet. Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Boleros, Schooner Bar, Music Hall, Spotlight Karaoke, and more venues are included.

When the Icon of the Seas makes her debut from PortMiami in January 2024, guests will have access to all of these amazing features, as well as 7-night Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean sailings to some of the most popular ports in the Caribbean, such as Royal Caribbean’s private island destination, CocoCay in The Bahamas.

Even though the Icon of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship in the world, with space for up to 7,600 guests when all berths are occupied, every passenger can choose a drink they prefer to raise a glass to an unforgettable trip.
