The Philippines will reopen to vaccinated tourists from certain countries starting December 1.

Fully-vaccinated foreign tourists from countries designated low risk by the Philippines will be allowed entry over an initial 15-day period, Karlo Nograles, acting presidential spokesperson, announced in a news conference.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Britain, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States are the countries included in the low-risk list.

“This is something we are doing step by step,” Nograles said, adding that the two-week window could be extended.

The Philippines’ borders have been shut for foreign tourists since early 2020, at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia have reopened their borders to foreign tourists.
