Derby-based luxury serviced apartment provider, The Stay Company, is celebrating continued growth after adding another site to its property portfolio. The business, which has its HQ in Friar Gate Derby, has secured the lease on a new, purpose-build block in Eastwood – which will offer 16 one and two bedroom luxury apartments.
Plans have been submitted by developers, PKL Investments, to transform part of a disused car park off Kelham Way in Eastwood, into luxury apartments. Eastwood has been targeted as The Stay Company’s next development, due to the strong growth in new and expanding businesses in the area – including a new Amazon Fulfilment Centre – and its proximity to Derby and Nottingham.
The new lease acquisition by The Stay Company brings the total number of apartments it has to more than 100 – serving the growing appetite for affordable extended stay accommodation across the East Midlands.
Dan Wilkinson, director of The Stay Company, said: “This is great news for The Stay Company as we work hard to increase the number of serviced apartments that we can offer clients across the wider region.
“This site in Eastwood has presented us with the perfect opportunity to reach beyond Derby and Nottingham and grow our quality brand beyond these two busy cities. “It has always been our intention to spread ourselves across the East Midlands, so more of our extended stay guests have choice and flexibility. “Eastwood is an exciting prospect for us, and as always, it’s critical to our offering to have secured the lease for the entire building. “We can’t wait to work further with PKL Investments and create more contemporary and high-quality apartments.”
In October, The Stay Company launched Whitefriars House, Nottingham – a £2m development providing serviced apartments for corporate and leisure guests in Nottingham City Centre.A major refurbishment transformed three levels of the four-storey building into 17 open plan studios, and one and two-bedroomed luxury serviced apartments.
Manjas Lidder, director of PKL Investments, said: “The plot in Eastwood was crying out for redevelopment and it was something we were extremely interested in getting involved with, especially in the light of the huge growth in new businesses establishing a strong presence in the area, including Amazon.
“We want to create a landmark building in Eastwood given the key prominence of this site and hence our design standards are high.” Derby-based The Stay Company provides contemporary, high-quality apartments, offering spacious and flexible accommodation for clients looking for extended and short term stays.
Guests can choose from studio, one bed and two bed apartments, all of which enjoy super-fast, reliable, and private Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchens, living rooms and workspaces. As with all sites operated by The Stay Company, guests benefit from secure premises, professional housekeeping and 24-hour phone support.
Dan Wilkinson added: “It is always exciting when we add another site to our growing portfolio. Since we launched, The Stay Company has successfully sourced a number of superb buildings to lease. Exciting times are certainly ahead as we work hard to expand and grow.”
