The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) offers tourists a unique and vibrant way to experience the colourful cultural scene of southern Thailand with HATYAI OUTLOUD.

Touted as a festival of art, music, light, and sound in Hatyai, the event is scheduled for 30 August to 1 September at the  Robinson Department Store Parking Lot and Niphat Uthit 1 Road (Sino-European Building Sai 1), Hat Yai City, Songkhla Province.

HATYAI OUTLOUD will transform its historic host district into a lively and colourful space filled with art and music where visitors can enjoy a variety of activities. All of these may be enjoyed free of charge, and the festival area is open from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The event features several mini-concerts featuring Thai music groups Paradox, Musketeers, and Lomosonic; a number of cultural workshops; beautifully decorated photo spots; as well as a wide selection of local delicacies prepared by some of the region’s most popular street food experts.

Making the most of the Malaysian tourist market

According to TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, approximately 70 percent of Malaysian tourists enter Thailand via land borders, with Songkhla, Betong, and Satun being the primary and rapidly growing checkpoints. Hat Yai in Songkhla province, in particular, remains one of the most popular Thai destinations for Malaysian tourists due to its convenient accessibility by both air and land transportation.

Kiatphaibool added that extending he exemption of the Immigration Form T.M.6 at Sadao checkpoint in Songkhla further streamlines the land entry process. TAT projects that, by the end of this month, a total of 3.2 million Malaysian tourists will have visited Thailand, making Malaysia the country’s second-largest source market after China.
