Travelex extends tenure at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Travelex has extended its presence at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport by five years – building on a two-decade partnership with mainland Europe’s leading aviation hub. Travelex will also be launching a new store and two new ATMs at the airport, taking its total footprint to 11 stores and 50 ATMs.

The extension of Travelex’s contract at Schiphol comes as European aviation surpassed pre-Covid passenger levels last year. Schiphol served 66.8 million customers in 2024, marking an 8% increase on 2023 and securing its status as the third busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic numbers. Travelex first entered Schiphol in 2004 and become the airport’s preferred foreign exchange partner in 2022.

Travellers can use Travelex’s Schiphol stores to purchase over 50 different foreign currencies or collect cash they have pre-ordered online, and can collect pre-ordered currency at a dedicated pick-up desk.

In 2021, Travelex launched two new concept stores in Schiphol, which showcased a redesigned open layout with more ATMs than a traditional store, enabling customers greater convenience and access to travel money.

At Schiphol Airport, Travelex is the leading wholesale provider of foreign currency services, supporting over 80% of concessionaires with efficient cash handling solutions. Travelex facilitates the processing and supply of both foreign currencies and euros, ensuring seamless operations for businesses at one of Europe’s busiest airports.
